CHICAGO-Canon Communications, a producer of trade shows for advanced technology manufacturing companies, announced that Chicago will be the site of the nation’s largest design and manufacturing trade show when the company co-locates Quality Expo, Assembly Technology Expo and National Manufacturing Week shows September 25 to 27, 2007. The combined expositions will occupy all 800,000-square-feet in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, creating the nation’s largest design and manufacturing trade event. The co-located event is expected to include 1,800 exhibiting companies and attract nearly 50,000 attendees.

Following an outstanding performance by the Electronics Assembly Pavilion (EAP) at the Assembly Technology Expo (ATExpo) in Chicago, new owner Canon Communications has announced plans to reposition the pavilion in 2007 as a dedicated event-the Electronics Assembly Show (EAS). In addition, the company will co-locate EAS with the new Surface Mount Technology Conference, one of the largest and most comprehensive electronic manufacturing conferences in the industry.

In addition to co-locating with ATExpo, the new events will also benefit from a co-location with National Manufacturing Week and Quality Expo. Both of these are long running and broad-based advanced manufacturing events whose attendees historically include about 20% electronic OEMs.
