NEW YORK—The Automation Hall of Fame (New York) has announced a program to expand public understanding of the role of technical innovation in contemporary life and is looking for corporate sponsors.

The four-fold program includes an exhibit at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry, an annual black-tie dinners to recognize individuals who made contributions to the advancement of manufacturing, a website, and an ongoing public information program.

According to Ralph Richardson, president of the Automation Hall of Fame, sponsoring companies will gain recognition and media exposure through assocation with the Hall. The primary vehicle for gaining attention is the annual induction into the hall of fame and the presentation of the Prometheus Award. Of the three dozen previous winners of the Prometheus Award, many are quality-related men including W. Edwards Deming, Joseph Juran, Dr. Yoji Akao, Taiichi Ohno, Walter Edward Shewart and Genichi Taguchi.
