Quality Update Q-Tube Special Edition 3

CHICAGO - In this edition of Quality Magazine's Quality Update, we'll take a look at some more product offerings that were showcased at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), which took place in the heart of Chicago, September 8 to 13, 2008, at McCormick Place.

If you attended the show, here's another look at what some suppliers brought to the event; for those who could not attend, here's a chance to see what you missed, and contact these featured suppliers.
IMTS 2008 was a productive event for both visitors and exhibitors, with an increase in attendance from IMTS 2006, even though the show was two days shorter.

Visitors came from far and wide to discover the latest technologies that will enable them to improve their manufacturing operations.

IMTS 2010 will run September 13 to 18, 2010.

Mahr Federal Inc.

Mahr Federal Inc. manufactures a range of production dimensional measuring technology. At IMTS 2008, the products Mahr showcased included the GMX 400 gear tester and the MarSurf WS1, a white light interferometry system.

Marposs

Marposs is a manufacturer of metrology equipment for use during and after machining operations. At IMTS 2008, the products Marposs showcased included wireless gaging technology, in-process gaging, and probes and lasers.

Scienscope

Scienscope serves all areas of manufacturing quality control with three main product divisions: inspection, measurement and capital equipment. At IMTS 2008, Scienscope highlighted its microscopes, video inspection systems, video measurement and X-ray inspection equipment.

SMAC

SMAC manufactures moving coil actuators based on linear motor technology. The actuators can be used for a wide range of positioning, measuring, inspection and pick and place applications, particularly where 100% verification is required. The company showcased a few of its actuators at IMTS 2008.

S-T Industries

S-T Industries manufactures optical comparators and video inspection systems. The company also carries a complete line of precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and electronic tools. The company offers a variety of units ranging from small economical machines to large CNC measuring systems, and showed several of these products at IMTS.
