Manufacturer Implements Measurement Solutions

PLYMOUTH, MI-Perceptron Inc. announces that DaimlerChrysler has added three AutoGauge systems to its 2005-year Dakota truck lines. This completes a three-year transition from existing Perceptron P1000 measurement systems to IPNet-based measurement solutions at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant (Warren, MI).

The PC-based IPNet platform provides 100% in-line measurements, automatic alarm capabilities and Web-based reporting and analysis. These features will help Dodge to reduce process variation and implement process improvements. IPNet-based measurement solutions are being used at the automobile plant to monitor cab, box and motor compartment sub-assemblies. AutoGauge in-process measurement stations use noncontact laser sensors to measure dimensional characteristics on vehicles produced.
