Xygent Inc. (Warwick, RI) has signed an agreement with SIP (Geneva), the Swiss coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and computer numerical control machine (CNC) tool manufacturer. Under the agreement, SIP's CMMs and CNCs will be bundled with use-appropriate operating software from Xygent's XactCOM suite.

"Our long experience in mechanical design makes us sensitive to the XactCOM concept, 'Dominate design, prevail over process,'" says Laurent Perrin, SIP vice president. "We know that accuracy is part of the design and the ability to correctly check GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) specifications as true positions is crucial."
