CINCINNATI-Hexagon Metrology (metrology.hexagon.se), North America, has announced the opening of the Cincinnati

Technical Center, a newly expanded facility where select engineering staffs of Sheffield Measurement, Brown & Sharpe, and Wilcox Associates will collaborate on the advancement of metrology technology to develop new coordinate measuring machine (CMM) products. Work will cover the full spectrum of CMM technology, including machine design, controller technology, and application software development.

Bill Gruber, president and CEO of Hexagon Metrology, North America, says, "The Cincinnati Technical Center is a major step in providing our family of metrology companies the opportunity to collaborate in bringing CMM technology to a new level."

Gruber adds, "The mission of the new Technical Center is threefold. We will provide Sheffield Measurement with a research and development facility devoted to product engineering. We will give Brown & Sharpe a complete customer service center that includes training, CMM systems service, calibration services, and customer applications development. And we will present Wilcox engineers the opportunity to work closely with CMM designers, applications engineers and our customers to advance the capabilities of PC-DMIS."
