1/2/2008: Faro Sells First Quantum FaroArm in U.S. Market

LAKE MARY, FL-Faro Technologies Inc., manufacturer of measurement software and devices, sold its first Quantum FaroArm in North America two weeks after its debut at Quality Expo, held in late September.

The buyer, Leading Edge Aerospace Inc. (Wichita, KS), provider of contract measurement services to the general aviation industry, currently uses multiple Platinum FaroArms and Faro Laser Trackers. Owner and President Stan Unruh states, “The Quantum FaroArm allows us to expand our quality assurance services and provide our customers with the highest accuracy available in a portable arm. We are committed to continuous improvement and investing in Faro’s newest device continues our pledge of high quality products and creative solutions.”

Operators guide the arm’s touch-probe along the surface of the object to be measured. The Quantum’s laptop computer simultaneously illustrates the 3-D measurements onscreen and records all of the data. It creates a 3-D blueprint of a part or machine components, making it a portable tool for performing inspections, tool certification, CAD-to-part analysis and reverse engineering.
