MCLEAN, VA-November U.S. manufacturing technology consumption totaled $365.66 million, according to AMTDA, the American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association, and AMT, the Association for Manufacturing Technology. This total, as reported by companies participating in the USMTC program, was down 9.3% from October, but up 5.0% from the total of $348.37 million reported for November 2006. With a year-to-date total of $3,851.40 million, 2007 was up 6.6% compared with 2006.

These numbers are based on the totals of data reported by companies participating in the United States Manufacturing Technology Consumption (USMTC) program.

“The November numbers continue to support the forecast of the 5% growth range for the year,” says Peter Borden, AMTDA president. “Orders for large, multi-process machines are strong, despite longer lead times, displaying long-term confidence across several segments of the manufacturing economy.”
