Hexagon Acquires Sheffield CMM Distributor

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI, June 9-Hexagon Metrology Inc., maker of metrology hardware and software, has acquired Sheffield CMM products distributor Advanced Metrology Solutions. The company is a distributor of precision metrology products in a nine-state territory, stretching from Michigan to Florida. Besides Sheffield, the company also sells other Hexagon Metrology brands including Romer portable arm measuring systems, Tesa precision hand tools and PC-DMIS software.

“This acquisition is part of Hexagon’s Global Growth Strategy of acquiring key distribution partners in key markets worldwide,” says Bill Gruber, president and CEO of Hexagon Metrology Inc. “In North America, it complements our multi-channel distribution strategy for Sheffield and Romer products, which ensures a focused sales force concentrating on individual brands and product categories.”
