The Aquilon 3-D laser scanner can capture up to 1 million points per second at a 5-micrometer accuracy. The operator controls scanning speed and can adjust the parameters according to the data density required by the application. The scanner can evaluate optimal scanning distance and display real-time previews of scanned data. The instrument also comes with an integrated contact probe. The scanner is appropriate for applications including high-accuracy measurement of technical parts and complex shapes requiring high point density for inspection or reverse engineering applications. With the online production capabilities of the system, measurements can be performed on the machine that is producing the part, and computer-aided design (CAD)-to-part comparisons can be immediately carried out to measure deviations.
