PROVIDENCE, RI, October 27-Mahr Federal has opened a customer resource and training facility in the greater Cincinnati, OH, area. The new facility is located two miles from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and is intended to facilitate expanded customer training and application support programs by the company.

"While the new facility is only slightly larger than our old one, it is purpose-built for our training, application engineering and customer service needs," says Pat Nugent, vice president of metrology systems.

In addition to an improved product demonstration room, the center will contain a training room with seating capacity for up to 18 people. This will enable the company to expand its training and application support offerings.

"Mahr Federal has always sought to provide customers with the best training and applications support possible,” says Nuget. “With the new facility, our applications engineers will be better able to develop customer-specific software solutions, and we're also actively working on an expanded syllabus of metrology seminars."

Seminar and training programs will include product application training as well as courses on the fundamentals of surface finish and advanced form measurement, air gaging, gear measurement, precision length and gage calibration. It will be possible to plug metrology equipment directly into the room's overhead projector system and operate it using touch-screen software on a 60-inch screen. Mahr Federal expects to roll out the expanded program in early 2009.

The center also serves as home to field service and repair operations. With the central location in the Midwest, and easy access to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport, the facility will speed response times for these services.
