Leica Product Nominated for Prodex Award

HEERBRUGG, SWITZERLAND, October 20-Leica Geosystems, provider to the industrial metrology market and a Hexagon Metrology company, is among the top 10 candidates for the Prodex Award 2008. This annual award is given to companies presenting special highlights at the Prodex exhibition. Innovative products in the machine tools, tools and production measurement sectors are considered for the prize.

The Leica Absolute Tracker is a finalist because of its distance accuracy. Within a measurement volume of 80 meters it achieves a distance accuracy of 10 micrometers. Because of the Leica Absolute Interferometer (AIFM), a technology for which a patent has been applied, the tracker measures both relative and absolute distances for full result dependability. With the AIFM it also is possible to re-establish an interrupted laser beam and immediately start measuring a moving target.

Prodex 2008 will be held from November 18 to 22 at the Basel Exhibition Centre in Basel, Switzerland. The Prodex award will be presented at the exhibitor's evening on November 20.

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
