Call For Papers: 2009 NCSLI Conference

BOULDER, CO, October 31-NCSL International announces the call for papers for its 2009 NCSLI Conference, taking place July 26 to 30, 2009, at the San Antonio Convention Center.

The 2009 Conference theme is "Metrology's Impact on Global Trade." Share your related metrological experiences, the results of your hard work on a committee, or specialized measurement techniques you have developed. This opportunity gives you a chance to speak to, and become known by, your peers all over the world.

Abstracts at all levels of metrology and calibration are accepted for peer review. If your paper is selected, it will become part of the conference proceedings.

Send abstract of 350 words or less to CallForPapers@ncsli.org no later than January 18, 2009. Include contact information and a short bio.

A greatly reduced conference registration price of $250 will be granted to those who submit their abstract by January 18, 2009, and their paper by May 22, 2009.

Visit ncsli.org for more information.

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
