The LaserGauge HS701 DSP sensor is a handheld laser profiler with on-board processing, nonvolatile memory and a color display. The sensor functions autonomously, capturing 2-D surface scans, digitizing profiles, extracting dimensional measurements and analyzing contour features without having to connect to any other device. All of the company’s LaserGauge measurement methodologies are supported by the sensor, including standard virtual gages, custom algorithms and match-to-computer-aided design (CAD) templates. The sensor weighs 20 ounces, which includes the rechargeable, lithium-ion battery that provides up to four hours of continuous operation. The sensor also can be operated as a USB device attached to a laptop or tablet PC, providing inspection routine capabilities, enhanced graphics and automatic scan saving.
