GE Unveils Joint NDT Application Center in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, CHINA-Manufacturer of nondestructive testing (NDT) products, GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies and SGS-CSTC, a Chinese joint venture of SGS group, an inspection, verification, testing and certification company, unveiled a joint nondestructive testing (NDT) application center in Shanghai.

The center is located in Kongqiao Industrial Zone and equipped with GE’s NDT equipment, such as ultrasonic flaw detectors, eddy current products, spot-welding detectors and X-ray real-time inspection, digital inspection, computed radiography, microfocus X-ray and industrial CT systems.

"NDT demand in China grows rapidly with its manufacturing boom,” says Albert Wong, president of GE Sensing & Inpsection Technologies, Greater China. “The partnership combined GE's technology and engineering strengths with SGS's service capabilities. Together we'll be better positioned to work out optimal NDT solutions for Chinese customers."
