Metris Opens Manufacturing Facility

MANASSAS, VA-Metrology solutions provider Metris has opened a manufacturing facility in Manassas, VA, centralizing production of all of its large-volume metrology products. By streamlining all laser radar, iGPS and iSpace manufacturing, the company aims to support faster growth of its emerging large-scale metrology solutions.

The new Manassas facility merges two former Metris offices that were originally headquarters to ArcSecond and MetricVision, but after Metris acquired both firms in recent years they became integral to the Metris organization.

“Centralizing all large-volume metrology manufacturing resources at a single location offers many advantages,” says Jeff Walker, vice president of operations at the Metris Manassas facility. “It will enable Metris to streamline large-volume product operations and further increase the development pace of new product innovations.”

Approximately 60 employees work at the new 30,000-square-foot facility, located in Prince William Technology Park on Innovation Drive. The Prince William Technology Park is only leased to technology companies and is easily accessible from the 66 Interstate Highway.
