ISO 17025 Accreditation Awarded to Newark Labs

CHICAGO-Electronics distributor Newark, part of the global Premier Farnell Group, has announced that its metrology labs now meet ISO/IEC 17025: 2005. This accreditation assures the quality of the company’s precision calibration services, processes, technicians and data accuracy.

As part of the ISO/IEC 17025: 2005 certification, Newark’s labs undergo an external audit every six months to ensure that their processes, equipment and training continue to meet the quality levels necessary for this accreditation. In addition, all phases of Newark’s organization have been certified ISO 9001 since 1996.

Newark’s capabilities include electronic, physical and dimension calibration for a range of test equipment and measurement instruments to the 9001: 2000, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 and 17025 standards.

“We’re proud that Newark is the only national electronics distributor to provide in-house calibration services,” says Chris Binion, vice president of distribution. “And we’re even more proud that our labs have earned the highest accreditation. Engineers, quality managers and calibration coordinators can be assured that they perform to the highest standard.”
