Obituary: Weldon J. Shrum, Founder of Fastener Supply Co.

CHARLOTTE, NC-Founder, owner and chairman of Fastener Supply Co. Weldon J. Shrum passed away April 2, 2009, in Charlotte, NC.

Shrum was born October 17, 1929, in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late Gustus and Choyce Shrum. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Claude Shrum and Lloyd Shrum, and a sister, Margaret Helms.

Shrum was the founder, owner and chairman of Fastener Supply Co., which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Active in his industry on both a local and national level, Shrum served on the board of directors of the National Fastener Distributors Association (NFDA). Shrum was a member of the Joppa Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, the Oasis Shriners of North America and the Royal Order of Jesters Court No. 109, where he served as a past director.

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
