Extech Reports Record Growth

WALTHAM, MA – Extech Instruments, a subsidiary of FLIR Systems Inc., announced another year of sustained growth with record sales of $48 million in 2008. As a reflection of the economic downturn, Extech has witnessed a continued surge in demand for their wide range of handheld test and measurement equipment.

Extech continued to gain market share in handheld test and measurement and entry-level infrared cameras in 2008 with total sales and product shipments reaching all-time highs.

Extech combines multiple relevant functions in one tool so technicians get more while spending less. Market research firm Frost & Sullivan recently reported the rise of combinational testers as one major price-driven trend in test and measurement. Extech has been on the leading edge of this trend for several years, adding exclusive, patented infrared thermometer capabilities into a broad range of testers and meters.

Extech Instruments is one of the largest suppliers of test and measurement equipment worldwide. Founded in 1971, Extech is known for its depth and breadth of products and its innovation in providing instruments with unique combinations of features that make them highly useful and very convenient. All Extech meters are distributed worldwide through leading representatives, distributors and OEMs. The company is ISO 9001 2000 certified and is a wholly owned subsidiary of FLIR Systems Inc.
