ISO/TS 16949 Auditor Guide Available

SOUTHFIELD, MI-The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) has announced the availability of the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) Auditor Guide for ISO/TS 16949. Organizations can benefit from auditing competency criteria guidance originally developed for certification bodies and their auditors.

This guidance document provides details about how to demonstrate compliance to customer requirements established through the third party audit process. Further, it can be used as an assessment tool by management to maintain key customer expectations and will aid in better understanding the audit process including what ISO/ TS 16949 quality management system auditors are looking for.

The IATF Auditor Guide for ISO/TS 16949 provides a graphic representation of the certification audit process and competencies for each area, the guideline also defines the activities and required auditor competencies in the ISO/TS 16949 audit process. The competencies, address areas of known auditor and audit concern and reflect how the IATF evaluates auditors, audits and certification bodies.
