The GMX 400 provides analysis for a range of gear and gear tool applications with ODs up to 400 millimeters. The tester incorporates a four-axis controller with automatic tailstock and a 3-D scanning probe head. Equipped for both stand-alone shop floor and gear lab applications, the tester also can be networked for transfer of measurement results and machine corrections. The tester has Class 1 accuracy in accordance with VDI/VDE 2612/2613 Group 1.

NEWARK, NJ-The Industrial Price Index (IPI), based on the daily prices of raw materials used in industrial production, ended the week of July 31 more than 2.1 percentage points higher than the previous week, reaching 88.2532 - the highest point for the IPI since October 17, 2008, reports the Journal of Commerce's Economic Cycle Research Institute. MAG Provides Machine Tools to Russian Aerospace Manufacturer
STERLING HEIGHTS, MI-Machine tool company MAG Industrial Automation Systems recently shipped a titanium profiler machining system to Russian titanium producer VSMPO-Avisma, as part of a 34-machine order valued at more than $74 million. The MAG machines will provide critical manufacturing capacity to the newly established Landing Gear Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Verkhnyaya Salda, Russia, part of the Ural Boeing Manufacturing (UBM) joint venture with Boeing, and will produce titanium components for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the Boeing 777 and other aircraft. Zeiss Delivers 2,000th Contura G2 CMM
MAPLE GROVE, MN-Carl Zeiss IMT Corp. has sold its 2,000th Contura G2 coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to Schmiede Corp. of Tullahoma, TN, a contract machining shop. The Contura G2 was introduced in December of 2005, and since then the Maple Grove, MN, manufacturing facility has produced 2,000 of the machines. FULL STORY>>
