Veeco Appoints Gordon Hunter to Board of Directors

PLAINVIEW, NY-Veeco Instruments Inc. announced that Gordon Hunter has been appointed to its board of directors.

Hunter currently serves as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Littelfuse Inc., a provider of circuit protection products and solutions with annual sales of $430 million in 2009. He also serves on the Council of Advisors of Shure Inc.

John R. Peeler, Veeco’s chief executive officer, comments, “We welcome Gordon to Veeco’s Board, and look forward to having the advice and strategic thinking of a seasoned technology industry veteran. Gordon has a deep background in international sales, marketing and operations. As Veeco continues to rapidly expand our business globally in the high-growth “clean tech” segment, we are confident that Gordon will be a valued advisor to our team.”
