Hexagon Metrology Opens New Romer Factory and R&D Center

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI-Hexagon Metrology Inc. announced the completion and opening of its newest facility located in Oceanside, CA. The state-of-the-art factory, and research and development center, will serve as the North American manufacturing headquarters for the Romer brand of portable coordinate measuring machines.

The new 14,000 sq. ft. facility was designed specifically for the production of portable coordinate measuring machines such as the newly released Absolute portable articulating arm series. The layout and design of the new building integrates the latest in JIT and lean manufacturing concepts, which enables efficient, cost effective and higher volume production of the high precision devices.

The new Hexagon Metrology plant also includes an expanded R&D facility to drive innovation in the portable metrology market. All manufacturing and R&D functions in Hexagon’s Carlsbad, California facility will transition to the new Oceanside location starting today, with full customer services and operations projected to commence on Monday March 7, 2011.

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000.
