RENTON, WA-Microscan, a global technology leader for barcode and machine vision products, will highlight its track and trace solutions for assembly manufacturing in Booth #741 at the Assembly & Automation Technology Expo, scheduled to take place September 28-30, 2010 at the Donald E. Stevens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.

Throughout manufacturing and assembly operations, Microscan products are commonly used in factory automation barcode and vision inspection applications such as work-in-progress (WIP) tracking, component traceability, quality monitoring, date and lot code tracking, inventory control, and quality inspections.

During the show, Microscan will demonstrate the QX Hawk, the world’s highest performance barcode imager for multi-purpose code reading. With a fully integrated liquid lens, the QX Hawk is optimized for both superior image clarity and infinite focus capacity. The result is unmatched flexibility to read 1D and 2D barcodes in any orientation, either up close or at great distances. For example, during assembly a QX Hawk can perform a wide range of identification applications, from small code unique item traceability to long range pallet tracking with the barcode in any orientation.

Also at the show, Microscan will highlight its Track, Trace, and Control (TTC) middleware, designed to provide WIP visibility through a factory (tracking), validate the process flow (control), and provide the history of the process steps accomplished on a product (traceability). With TTC middleware, data collection is combined with error proofing to demonstrate process compliance, while reducing material and assembly costs. The middleware provides complete, real time data visibility across the plant floor for all data collection points such as machine vision cameras or barcode readers.

The Microscan TTC solution allows simple implementation, featuring Web-based controls and reporting, separate from the main IT plant floor network. The solution includes middleware, choice of hardware and complete visibility online for real time reporting.
