Ford Motor Co.is issuing a recall of 150,000 of its F-150 pickup trucks, the nation’s best-selling vehicle.

The manufacturer announced the recall early Wednesday, voicing concerns about air bags deploying without warning. The recall includes 2005-06 model years. This was following pressure from the government-the U.S. Transportation Department asked the automaker to recall 1.3 million F-150 trucks, saying 77 injuries from air bags deploying unexpectedly were connected to the car, according to media reports.

Ford has recalled about 10 million vehicles during the past decade, including a previous F-150 recall to repair a cruise control switch system connected to engine fires.
