NASHOTAH, WI –Dickten Masch Plastics (DMP), a custom Wisconsin and Iowa-based thermoplastics and thermoset molder with metal stamping and assembly capabilities, recently earned ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification as a Tier 1 automotive supplier. The certification validates DMP’s commitment to its customers and to the continuous improvement.

”Our goal has always been to provide maximum efficiency, service and value to our customers,” says DMP CEO Steve Dyer. “By showing that we surpassed a third party auditing body’s high standards of excellence, this certification demonstrates that we’re always striving to deliver greater value and quality to all of our customers.”

A third-party registrar recommended DMP for certification after conducting initial audits in December 2010, within the scope of design and manufacture of custom molded plastic products, metal stampings and assemblies.

The registration also will support DMP’s Fluid Level Indicator business to Tier 1 automotive OEM’s.

"The implementation of an ISO/TS 16949:2009 certified system further emphasizes DMP’s Quality policy,” says Carl Lider, general manager of Wisconsin operations for DMP. “It’s an example that we maintain a mindset of continuous improvement in all facets of our business, so that we can continue providing advanced, high-quality technical solutions that meet all of our customers’ evolving needs.”

The ISO/TS 16949:2009 standard specifies the management system requirements for the design, development, production and, where applicable, installation and servicing of automotive-related products. Developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) in conjunction with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the quality management standard aligns existing American, European and Asian automotive quality systems standards within the global automotive industry.

This certification to ISO/TS 16949:2009 applies to one of the two plants in Nashotah and supporting corporate processes. The remaining DMP facilities will continue to maintain ISO 9001:2008 systems. Enhancements to the quality system of all operations continue to be a component of DMP’s continual improvement initiatives.
