CTM Announces New Green Initiative, Receives ISO 14001 Designation

FRANKFORT, NY-CTM, a high-precision engineering machine shop has implemented an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).

The ISO 14001 system takes a look at how a company's products and processes have an effect on the environment (air, land, water) and refers to the management of an organization's environmental programs in a comprehensive, systematic, planned and documented manner. It includes the organizational structure, planning and resources for developing, implementing and maintaining policy for environmental protection.

Through the use of a successful regional partnership, a grant for the training was procured by the Workforce Development Institute (WDI) and the training and implementation was provided by Mohawk Valley Applied Technology Corp. (MVATC).

CTM, established in 1969, is a member of New York State's Tech Valley and located in Frankfort, NY. It is an ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100:2004 Rev.B Certified high precision engineering machine shop that is also ITAR Registered and holds a Federal Firearm License.

It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
