Exact Metrology Receives ISO 9001:2008 Certification

CINCINNATI, OH–Exact Metrology Inc., a metrology solutions company, has recently received ISO 9001:2008 certification for its quality management systems. This certification verifies that the key processes Exact Metrology uses to deliver contract measurement services as well as sell and service metrology equipment are consistently monitored and continually improved.

“Attaining ISO 9001 certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to quality and to our customers” says Dean Solberg, principal of Exact Metrology. “We’ve always been dedicated to delivering a higher level of service, and achieving ISO certification underscores this dedication at all levels of our organization.” To satisfy the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 certification, Exact Metrology was required to implement a quality management system that adheres to the regulations set up by the International Organization for Standards. Certification requires evaluation by an independent, accredited auditing firm, and Exact Metrology’s audit was completed by Preferred Registrar Group Inc.

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
