AMT'S Mike Jacobs Re-Elected to Robotic Industries Association's Board of Directors

ORION, MI-Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT), a supplier of factory automation design, engineering and process consulting services, has re-elected President and founder Mike Jacobs to serve on the Robotic Industries Association's (RIA) board of directors. Jacobs' expertise in early adoption of emerging automation technologies and commitment to automation job growth aligns perfectly with RIA's mission and goals, AMT says.

"Throughout our 22-plus-year history, we regularly serve robot manufacturers, small and large system integrators and robot end users," Jacobs says. "This wide-ranging exposure to our industry allows me to bring a broad perspective to the RIA board and my personal passion for developing automation careers is in line with, and supports, the RIA mission statement to improve global competitiveness of North American manufacturing and service sectors."

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
