PLYMOUTH, MI-TÜV SÜD America is expanding its automotive EMC laboratory with the opening of an additional 3-meter chamber for immunity and emission testing along with expanded conducted immunity capacity and capabilities.

The electronic technology being incorporated into automobiles is becoming increasingly complex and greater in volume. This facility doubles TÜV SÜD America’s capacity to meet supplier timing and testing needs from engineering development to design validation to product validation. "This facility has expanded TÜV SÜD's ability to provide RF immunity and emissions testing to a wide range of automotive industry standards," says Steve English, EMC testing manager for TÜV SÜD.

"The additional investment in this facility will allow us to improve our test timing and response to customer demand for more development testing, particularly on larger test systems such as HV batteries and related control electronics,” he adds.

TÜV SÜD America also offers EMC testing in California and Minnesota. The company also provides testing and certification for a variety of commercial and electrical products on a local, regional and global level.
