WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA - ASTM International Committee D02 on Petroleum Products and Lubricants has honored consultant Kenneth O. Henderson of Port Matilda, PA, with the Sydney D. Andrews Scroll of Achievement. Henderson was cited for his outstanding work and his many contributions to the committee.

An ASTM International member since 1983, Henderson has served as chair of Committee D02 since 2006. He works on several D02 subcommittees and is vice chair of the Coordinating Subcommittee on International Standards and Related Activities (D02.93). Committee D02 has recognized Henderson’s work with an award of appreciation, three awards of excellence and the ASTM Award of Merit and its accompanying title of fellow. In addition to D02, Henderson is a member of Committees D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications and E20 on Temperature Measurement.

Henderson was vice president of technology at Canon Instrument Co., State College, PA, for 11 years until his retirement in January 2009. Before that, he worked as rheology group leader at Ethyl Petroleum Additives (now Afton Chemical), Richmond, VA, and managed engine test programs at Castrol North America, Wayne, NJ. His professional career has focused on the physical properties and performance of engine lubricants, particularly flow properties at low temperatures.

Outside ASTM International, Henderson is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Missouri - St Louis.
