TROY, MI-Test Equipment Distributors (TED), a supplier of nondestructive testing equipment and supplies nationwide, announces the acquisition of the supplies and accessories business unit of Universal NDT (Upland, CA). The move was made to help TED better serve the aerospace and other industries in the Western states region. As part of the agreement, TED takes over the facility and will retain the current sales and warehouse staff. Universal NDT will independently continue to provide calibration and repair services. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“Universal NDT has a strong reputation in the nondestructive testing industry in this region and we see this addition as a perfect complement to TED’s growth strategy going forward,” says Mike Hamel, president of TED. With the Upland facility, TED now has five locations to serve the NAFTA region.
