Optical Instrument Supplier Celebrates 40 Years

CHATSWORTH, CA-McBain Instruments, a supplier of research, inspection and laboratory microscopy systems and custom engineered optical instruments, celebrates its 40th anniversary. The company has served the industrial, biomedical and life sciences markets since 1965 from their Southern California location.

Founded by Carl McBain, the company began as a microscope service and repair firm. McBain added a sales division and then moved on to engineer custom imaging systems. A portion of the company was sold in 1983 to Warner-Lambert, while McBain retained the sales and distribution segments.
