Applus RTD Announces North American Acquisition

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Applus RTD Group, a provider of asset integrity services, has announced the acquisition of Valley Industrial X-Ray and Inspection Services Inc, headquartered in Bakersfield, CA. This operation, together with the acquisition of JanX (United States) in 2008, Technico (Canada) in 2009, and QIS (United States) and Staveley (Canada) in 2010, reinforces the company's commitment to the North American market, where it has been present for two decades with a large workforce.

The Applus RTD Group is strengthening its geographical position in the United States and Canada as well as in different application fields such as oil & gas, power plants, refineries, storage tanks and the petrochemical industry.

The head office for Applus RTD U.S. is in Houston; for Applus RTD Canada in Edmonton. Nondestructive testing and inspection (NDT&I) is part of the full services approach which Applus RTD brings to the market as asset integrity services. The acquisitions of the two companies strengthen the position of Applus RTD in North America.

Valley is a high-quality provider of NDT&I and asset integrity management services, predominately to the oil and gas exploration and production industry, including gas plants and drilling and production. Valley has over 200 employees and operates primarily from three operating locations in Western USA, with the major operating location being in Bakersfield, CA.

Applus+ offers testing, inspection, certification and technological services. It is one of the ten largest companies in the conformity assessment sector worldwide, a global leader in the fields of vehicle inspection and non-destructive testing and is among the top companies in Europe in the inspection, technical assistance and laboratory sectors.

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
