Edmund Optics Announces 2010 Higher Education Grant Program

BARRINGTON, NJ - In a continuing effort to support outstanding undergraduate and graduate optics programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics at non-profit colleges and universities, Edmund Optics will be awarding three grants in the form of product donations to selected programs, within the United States. Criteria for the awards encompass the number of students and courses involved in the study of optics, specific projects, and the types of products which would be most useful.

EO will make three grants in the following amounts:

First Grant Award - $10,000 in products
Second Grant Award - $7,500 in products
Third Grant Award - $5,000 in products

"Edmund Optics has been a long time believer in the advancement of optics programs in educational institutions and by offering these grants, we are helping to grow the programs and encourage interest in future generations of researchers," says Marisa Edmund, vice president of marketing and communications. "Continuing this support is fundamental to EO's commitment to the optics industry."

Grant applications can be found here and must be submitted by June 30, 2010. Grant awards will be announced on October 1, 2010.
