Cypress Completes its 100th Custom CMOS Image Sensor Design

SAN JOSE, CA -- Cypress Semiconductor Corp. announced that it has completed its 100th custom CMOS image sensor design. Cypress’s diverse portfolio addresses a broad array of applications such as industrial and medical X-ray imaging, endoscopy, machine vision, star tracking and remote sensing for space, barcode readers, biometrics, high-speed line sensors and high-speed motion analysis sensors.

The wide range of custom design wins includes multiple designs for Vision Research, Toshiba Teli, Micro Imaging, ARRI Gmbh, along with more than forty other custom-sensor customers worldwide, each serving different market segments and applications. Cypress’s customer base also includes several hundred customers for standard CMOS image sensor products. Cypress works directly with customers to create unique, optimized image sensor solutions for their various market and system requirements. Cypress demonstrated its custom and standard CMOS image sensor solutions at VISION 2008 in Stuttgart, Germany.

“Cypress forged a leadership position in custom image sensors by serving as a one-stop shop for product and test engineering, product characterization and qualification, and manufacturing and logistics support,” says Cliff Drowley, vice president of Cypress’s image sensor business unit. “Our experience as a full-service custom imaging solutions provider differentiates us from the design houses we typically compete with, and we are determined to strengthen our knowledge base and lead.”

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
