The South West School of NDT Continues to Expand

CARDIFF, UNITED KINGDOM - Following its busiest year ever, the Cardiff-based South West School of NDT is again expanding. In addition to investing in the construction of a new large classroom facility to support the growing demand for courses, The South West School of NDT has recruited two additional NDT Level 3 trainers.

Bob Williams started his NDT career in the RAF working with all methods of NDT and over recent years has additionally worked with acoustic emission and the application of long-range ultrasonic testing. He is specialising in courses covering ultrasonic testing including phased array technology and eddy current testing.

Alan Rees has spent the last twenty-five years combining NDT, mechanical testing and metallurgy in a variety of diverse roles. Given his extensive background and experience in these areas, in addition to the more usual magnetic and penetrant inspection, Alan will be delivering the School's specialist courses covering mechanical testing, heat treatment and metallurgy.

The South West School of NDT comes under the wing of Colin Thomas, Minton, Treharne & Davies's director of engineering services, who says: "It's a very exciting and challenging time for us. Our clients no longer need support in five main methods of NDT, but also in many additional developing techniques. We need to ensure we can deliver the training and Level 3 consultancy our clients need when they need it. By expanding our team and facilities, we intend to ensure we can continue to provide the diverse range of support our clients require."

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
