New Remote Visual Inspection Resource Blog Introduced

Advanced Inspection Technologies has sponsored the creation of a new blog to provide remote visual inspection professionals with a resource to keep them up to date in this exciting industry. The resource site provides the latest news on products, inspection techniques, industry trends and provides a remote visual inspection knowledge base.

This is the only resource that specifically targets the remote visual inspection (RVI) industry. The blog has posts that include the advantages and disadvantages of different RVI technologies such as: borescopes, videoscopes, fiberscopes and pipe inspection cameras.

"Advanced Inspection Technologies is a leading force in remote visual inspection and we wanted to have a conduit to share our years of experience and expertise," says Paul Fitzgerald, president and CEO of Advanced Inspection Technologies. "We look forward to sharing our knowledge with new and veteran remote visual inspection professionals. Whether it is a rigid borescope used to inspect a casting, a videoscope inspection of a gas turbine or inspection of a 100-foot industrial line we look forward to a dynamic and engaging discussion."

The new blog is the first of its kind. No other resource exists where remote visual inspection is the primary topic of discussion. Answers to questions can be quickly found about RVI technologies such as borescopes, fiberscopes, videoscopes and push cameras. Applications are a frequent topic and how RVI is successfully used to achieve the best inspection results. Industry events and new technologies and products will keep anyone interested in remote visual inspection up to date. Visit www.remotevisualinspection.org for more information.

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
