Call for 2012-2013 AIA Board of Directors Nominations

The AIA Board is currently seeking candidates for the 2012-2013 AIA Board of Directors. The Board serves a vital role in providing the strategic guidance for our trade association and has been the key factor in our growth to more than 300 member companies from 30 nations.

This year we have four open seats and will have a maximum of eight candidates on the ballot. The current Board will review all of the nominees and determine which ones will be listed on the ballot, should there be more than eight who are interested in serving. Then, the ballot will be sent to the key contact at every member company (one vote per company). The top four vote getters will join the Board in January 2012 at the AIA Business Conference.

Each potential candidate is asked to write a 250-word statement on “What I Can Bring to the AIA Board of Directors.” All nominations must be received by Monday, October 31.

Serving on the Board requires a major commitment to the trade association. In addition to attending four meetings per year (Board terms are two years each), Board members are asked to be active on committees and to provide guidance throughout the year. Because AIA is a global trade group, Board members can be from any part of the world.

If you would like to nominate a candidate, here’s a link to the official form.

If you have any questions about the Board or the election process, please contact Jeff Burnstein, AIA president, directly.

A Practical Field Guide for ISO 9001:2008

The purpose of this field guide is to assist organizations, step by step, in implementing a quality management system (QMS) in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, whether from scratch or by transitioning from ISO 9001:2000. It examines each sub-clause of Sections 4–8 of ISO 9001:2008, which contain the requirements, and gives a list of the documentation/documents required, internal audit questions, a summary of management’s responsibilities, and a flowchart of the steps that need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements.
