SOUTHINGTON, CT-Baumer Optronic GmbH, member of the Baumer Group, celebrated its tenth anniversary. The company is a provider of digital cameras and image acquisition systems, as well as vision sensors for process automation and quality assurance.

Established in 1997 with 20 employees, the staff has grown to more than 100. “Particularly in the past two years, we have seen constantly increasing order volumes, which led to many new posi-tions,” say the founding Managing Directors Dr. Joachim Ihlefeld and Dr. Oliver Vietze. An additional production building was constructed in 2004, extending the production space from 850 to 1,300 square meters.

The latest construction project is the extension of the Development Competence Center, which began in April 2007, and will create 800 square meters of office space.
