The Supervisory Board of TÜV SÜD AG appointed Dr. Matthias J. Rapp as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective August 16, 2013. Rapp's responsibilities on the Board of Management of Germany's largest TÜV organization will include finances, controlling, M&A, procurement, IT, and risk management.

"We are happy to have found an experienced financial expert for TÜV SÜD in Dr. Rapp. I am sure that he will contribute his great expertise towards significantly driving the company's growth and internationalization strategy in the coming years," says Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Jörg Bullinger, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TÜV SÜD AG.

In his present position, Rapp is Chief Financial Officer of Webasto SE, a supplier for the automotive industry. Born in 1967, Rapp studied Business Administration at WHU Koblenz, ESC Lyon, and Manchester Business School. He completed his doctorate at WHU Koblenz from 1992 to 1995. Rapp started his professional career with the global management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group before moving to industry in 1997, where he has since held positions as Chief Financial Officer in several prestigious companies.

Dr. Rapp succeeds Dr. Peter Klein, who leaves the Board of Management of TÜV SÜD at his own request in April 2013.
