BENBROOK, TX –– The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) announced today its final schedule of events for the 29th annual Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC) from July 22 - 26, 2013 in San Diego, CA. 

The CMS will kickoff the event with its traditional Icebreaker for all attendees and exhibitors on Monday night, July 22. This social networking event is sponsored by FARO Technologies. On Wednesday morning, July 24, the CMS will host a 5 Billion Micron Fun Run/Walk. Water and T-shirts will be provided for all participants by sponsor InnovMetric Software, Inc.

Five more networking and educational events round out the CMSC Program Agenda. A Wednesday evening reception is sponsored by ATT Metrology and the Metrologic Group. Following this event, attendees will gather for the annual CMSC Banquet sponsored by Hexagon Metrology. A Career Fair will be held from 10 – 11:30am in the Exhibition Hall on Thursday morning, July 25. On Friday morning, July 26, the CMS is offering an optional tour of the USS Midway Museum sponsored by Nikon Metrology.  Following the tour, attendees and the CMS Executive committee will perform community service by working at the local San Diego Food Bank, from 2 – 4pm.  

The organization will conduct their fourth CMS Measurement Study sponsored by Metrologic, and supported by the CMS, National Physical Laboratory (UK) and Coventry University (UK). Three afternoon workshops are also scheduled including The Desperate Need for Good GD&T, Metrology for Aerospace Tooling in the 21st Century, and the 2013 Measurement Study Review and Good Practices. The CMS Certification Committee will provide an update on their progress this year. A representative from NIST will hold an open meeting to discuss ASTM E57 standards for short range, portable 3D imaging systems.

The Coordinate Metrology Society also recognizes this year’s meal sponsors: Verisurf Software, Hubbs Machine and Manufacturing, ATS-Global, Laser Projector Technologies, and Brunson Instrument Company. The CMSC Exhibitor Hall will be at capacity with more than forty-five exhibitors featuring portable measurement systems (PCMMs), software, accessories, peripherals, and service providers catering to the needs of the industrial measurement marketplace. Conference attendees hail from prominent science/research laboratories, educational institutions, and industries such as aerospace, satellite, automotive, shipbuilding, power generation, and general engineering and manufacturing.
