Boxborough, MA – TUV Rheinland of North America has named Sagar Patel as lighting and LED program manager to head up the company’s newly launched service group based in Pleasanton, California.

In his new position, Patel will be responsible for developing the company’s lighting and LED program, working closely with engineers, operations, and sales. He will oversee operations of the new LED/Lighting lab in Pleasanton.

Patel comes to TUV Rheinland of North America after four years with SGS North America, where he served as engineering safety team leader, sr. project engineer and lighting technical lead. Prior to that, he had served with Intertek Testing Services as a project engineer.

Patel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering in Mumbai, India, and his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. He holds memberships with the Illuminating Engineering Society, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the National Fire Protection Association and is a Standards Technical Panel member for UL 1598, 1838, 1993, 1994, 2108 and 8750.
