North Charleston, SC – The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) announced today the final event schedule for their annual Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC), July 21-25, at the Embassy Suites North Charleston – Airport/Hotel & Convention, in North Charleston, SC.

Celebrating their 30th anniversary, the organization has once again assembled a stellar slate of industry experts delivering technical papers and presentations during the weeklong conference. Kicking off this milestone event will be the traditional CMSC Icebreaker for all attendees and exhibitors held on Monday evening, July 21, sponsored by FARO Technologies. The CMS will host the 4th annual 5 Billion Micron Fun Run/Walk on Wednesday morning, July 23. T-shirts and water will be provided for participating conference attendees by the sponsor of the event InnovMetric Software, Inc.

Other social networking and educational events round out the CMSC Program Agenda. A Wednesday evening pre-Banquet reception is sponsored by ATT Metrology and the Metrologic Group. Following this event will be the annual membership CMSC Banquet sponsored by Hexagon Metrology, Inc. The CMS is offering an optional tour of the Boeing Charleston facility, along with a Charleston Harbor luncheon cruise on Friday morning, July 25. The 2014 CMSC Tour is sponsored by Nikon Metrology.

The CMS will also present a new Measurement Zone, where attendees can participate in daily educational activities and competitions providing hands-on challenges using portable scanning systems. The Measurement Zone will be coordinated by the National Physical Laboratory (UK), Metrologic, and assisted by the CMS Certification Committee. On Wednesday, there will also be an afternoon workshop entitled A Short but Effective Field Test of Laser Trackers for Traceable Measurements presented by a NIST representative.

The Coordinate Metrology Society also recognizes this year’s meal and break sponsors: Clemson University, Verisurf Software, Laser Projector Technologies (LPT), Geodetic Systems, Inc. More than forty-five exhibitors will showcase their products and services in the CMSC Exhibitor Hall, including portable measurement systems (PCMMs), software, accessories, peripherals, and service providers catering to the needs of the industrial measurement marketplace.
