Richards Childress Racing Partners with Metris

LEUVEN, BELGIUM-Richard Childress Racing (RCR) is investing in a multi-million dollar partnership with Metris to use the Belgium-based company’s integrated metrology solutions in the production of the nine-time NASCAR champion racing organization’s engines and racecars.

Metris, with U.S. operations in Detroit, California and Virginia, will supply RCR with high-technology metrology systems, both contact and optical, and the expertise to improve the aerodynamics and boost the performance of its engines. The partnership is a move in RCR’s continuing bid to boost the performance of its cars with winning technology.

Metris provides integrated solutions for automotive and aerospace metrology. The portfolio comprises coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), optical CMMs, 3-D laser scanners, laser radar and iGPS systems along with Focus, an inspection and reverse engineering software.
