1/2/2008: Wenzel Receives Order for Largest CMM in Its History

WIES THAL, GERMANY-Wenzel GmbH was awarded an order for the largest coordinate measuring machine (CMM) that it has produced in its 40-year history. The 32-foot long Model LHF 3020 gantry CMM will be delivered to Embraer, a Brazilian aircraft manufacturer. The LHF 3020 has a measuring range of 9.8 feet (3,000 millimeters) by 32.8 feet (10,000 millimeters) by 6.5 feet (2,000 millimeters).
The Wenzel LHF Series of CMMs is specifically designed and developed to solve the problems associated with the inspection of large parts. These high-precision CMMs are characterized by an ease of accessibility and freedom of movement. The flexible configuration of the design provides for full integration of Renishaw scanning solutions.
