CLEVELAND, OH-The new Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) Web site, www.pma.org
, brings a world of value to metalforming professionals looking to quickly find solutions to business and industry challenges, locate technical training and engage in peer-to-peer collaboration.
PMA has overhauled the entire navigation of its Web site into a simplified, easy-to-use structure. A rebuilt search feature allows visitors not only to search within PMA resources, but also to search throughout the metalforming industry, filtering out unrelated content typical of generic searches.
For designers and purchasers of metalformed parts and assemblies, the new PMA.org features several enhancements, including the addition of a robust manufacturing member directory to complement the longstanding MakeitMetal buyers’ guide. Part and process designers, specifiers and purchasers of metal parts can search for suppliers by manufacturing process, and can drill down by specific capabilities and geography, allowing better-quality results and reduced search time. New Request For Quote functionality brings optimized collaboration and communication between buyers and suppliers and includes a quote basket, much like a shopping cart feature, to send requests to groups of suppliers. PMA members and advertisers will find more value and utility with new opportunities to upload logos, images and video demonstrations.
An easier-to-manage calendar system helps visitors identify and plan for technical, management and other industry events by providing search by event type and location functionalities.
User-friendly searchability has been added to PMA’s online Marketplace, where visitors to PMA.org can search and identify training and management resources such as books, training DVDs, archived webinars and business reports based on their professional and technical interests.
PMA.org features significantly enhanced information and collaboration within each of PMA’s 17 North American districts. The site delivers information and connects professionals within states and across regions. “We’ve made several enhancements in response to member and industry needs. But our focus on enhancing service on the local level is where we’ve seen the most improvement,” says Randy Kish, PMA marketing manager. “Our goal to be the go-to resource for metalforming knowledge and networking relies on our ability to respond and represent our members and the industry at the grassroots level of engagement. What we’ve launched is just the tip of the iceberg.”
