Binocular Microscopes

February 3, 2008

The 23-millimeter System 273 binocular microscopes are designed for inspection and assembly applications in static- sensitive environments. The ESD-safe lenses and body guard against uncontrolled static dissipation. The achromatic lenses and eyepieces are protected with an anti-reflective coating that alters the electrical characteristics at the surface of the material. The body and stand are powder-coated with a metal-laced paint that measures 105 ohms squared (static dissipative). Because the surfaces are not insulative, triboelectric charging will result in drastically lower voltages. The microscopes provide 270X total optical magnification, 8-inch working distance and 15% greater field of view than the company’s comparable System 250 models, which provide an optical magnification of 225X.
