Tech Showcase: An In-Depth Look at Borescopes
by Steve Wichelecki

Industrial borescopes are divided into three general subgroups: rigid borescopes, flexible borescopes and videoscopes. Many industries use borescopes to ensure product quality without having to destroy a part in periodic testing. Borescopes also are used in equipment maintenance programs, eliminating the need for teardowns when checking for in-service defects.

When determining which borescope is appropriate for a given application, consider the workpiece factors such as possible defect size, entry port size and area needing inspection. Environmental factors such as working temperature and pressure will determine the level of robustness required from a borescope. LEARN MORE

Get the Most Out of CT Software
by Richard Läpple

Industrial computer tomography (CT) is in the process of revolutionizing quality engineering. It provides an enormous amount of information and makes components transparent in the true sense of the word. To be able to use all possibilities provided by this technology, suitable software is indispensable.

Previously, most users of computer tomography scanners had to resort to using several software components, but technology has changed. Software is available today that allows voxel data processing, measurement analyses and materials testing tasks. LEARN MORE

Key to Quality: NDT as a Lifelong Passion
by Joseph Sorrentino

Nondestructive testing is one of my greatest passions, and has held great importance for me during my career.

A Solution for NDT Inspection

A growing number of application specialists are turning to a highly adaptable and flexible technology of high-speed low coherence interferometry to obtain real-time high-resolution 3-D measurements as well as surface mapping and characterization. Choosing an optimal NDT method for a lab or industrial application involves several considerations.
