Firstsight Vision Changes Name to Stemmer Imaging

SURREY, UNITED KINGDOM - From January 1st, 2009, Firstsight Vision will be renamed Stemmer Imaging as part of a rationalization of the Stemmer Imaging Group's activities throughout Europe, which will also see IMASYS in France adopt the Stemmer Imaging name. The Stemmer Imaging Group has a total revenue approaching €43 million, making it Europe's largest supplier of machine vision technology and services.

UK Director Mark Williamson says, ‘‘Firstsight Vision has been part of the Stemmer Imaging Group since July 2004. With offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Switzerland we have been working towards a co-ordinated operation especially focusing on technical knowledge transfer and adopting best practices while retaining local product and market flexibility to deliver what is needed in each local market. We now feel the time is right to adopt the same name throughout the group as part of a 'One Name, One Company' initiative. The change allows us to streamline our marketing activities and enables us to focus energy building just one brand, Stemmer Imaging. We have invested a lot of effort this year into bringing a commonality to the group's marketing material, and the name change will be the final piece of the jigsaw.

We can supply over 6000 different products many of which can be delivered next day from our £2 million stock warehouse. We will continue to offer the highest level of service, support and technical expertise. Over 70% of the group's 130 staff are technical enabling us to deliver true competitive advantage to our customers.”
